Dr. Ganapathy Murugan is the Executive Director of Public Health Resource Society (PHRS), and is based in New Delhi. He is a public health professional with more than 10 years of experience in research, advocacy, training and project management. Prior to joining PHRS, he was a Research Fellow with the Public Report on Health (PRoH) located at Council for Social Development, Delhi. He is closely associated with People’s Health Movement (Jan Swasthya Abhiyan). His areas of interest include political economy of health, private sector in health care and interdisciplinary research methodologies used in public health. He has led PHRS through the accreditation with “Credibility Alliance” in the category of desirable norms for good governance.
Dr. Ganapathy holds a doctoral degree in Social Medicine from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola College (University of Madras) with specialization in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work.
