Dr Vandana Prasad (MBBS, MRCP-Ped, MPH) is a community pediatrician and public health professional who has been engaged with the social sector for over two decades. Her main experience and expertise is in the area of malnutrition and child rights and she has many publications on these issues to her credit. She is Founder Secretary, National Convenor and Technical Advisor for Public Health Resource Network (PHRN) with which she has been leading a model for community-based-management of malnutrition, titled ‘Action Against Malnutrition (AAM)’. She is also Joint Convenor of People’s Health Movement-India (Jan Swasthya Abhiyan) and a member of the Steering Committee of the Right to Food Campaign, She has served Government of India as Member (Child Health), National Commission for Protection of Child Right.

Dr. Ganapathy Murugan is the Executive Director and Secretary of Public Health Resource Society (PHRS), and is based in New Delhi. He is a public health professional with more than 10 years of experience. He is closely associated with People’s Health Movement (Jan Swasthya Abhiyan). He has led PHRS through the accreditation with “Credibility Alliance” in the category of desirable norms for good governance. Dr. Ganapathy has a doctoral degree in Social Medicine from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Mr Vivek Goel is the Accounts and Administrative Officer of PHRS since 1st December 2016. He has  completed his Graduation (Commerce and computer application) from M.D university Rohtak and currently pursuing CA Final. Before joining PHRS he has worked with SPS Associates & J.K Verma & Company (C.A Firms) as Accounts and Audit Assistant. He has experience of Internal Audit as well as Statutory Audits.

Muneer Mammi Kutty

Dr. Muneer Mammi Kutty is a Programme Coordinator at PHRS New Delhi where he works on the Mainstreaming of Crèches to Reduce Malnutrition in Odisha project. Dr. Muneer holds a Master’s in Health Administration from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, School of Health System Studies (2017), and a Bachelor’s in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Amrita University (2013). He hails from Kannur in Kerala and currently lives in New Delhi. His interests include public health, anthropology, international politics, history and geography. He is an aficionado of ghazals and Indian classical music.

Ms Priyanka Chatterjee is working as Programme Coordinator in PHRN and is based in New Delhi. Prior to this, she worked as Research Associate in Ministry of Commerce, New Delhi. She has completed her Ph.D in Ecomonics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has done her Masters in Economics from Calcutta University with specialization in Econometrics. She has the skill of handling various quantitative analysis. Her areas of interest include labour employment, gender issues and policies related to rural development.

Dr. Osama Ummer is a Programme Coordinator at PHRS New Delhi where he works on the Partnership for Rural Integrated Development and Empowerment (PRIDE) project in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Prior to this, he worked at Community Processes division of National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) as a Fellow, and External Consultant where his interests in innovative research methods have led to a wide variety of policy, and programme initiatives. Osama holds a Master’s in Health Administration from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences School of Health System Studies (2016), and a Bachelor’s in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from University of Kerala (2011).

Dr. Aditi Hegde is a Programme Coordinator at PHRS New Delhi where she works on the SHG-led Transformation of Rural Communities Through Partnerships (STaRtuP) project. She graduated from DAPM RV Dental College and Hospital, Bengaluru, in 2013, and has completed her post-graduation from Dayananda Sagar College of Dental Sciences in 2017. Although a dentist by profession, she is passionate about the public health field, and looks forward to making a difference towards the same. Prior to joining PHRS, she was involved in a number of oral-health related research projects, as well as in conducting health camps in rural areas of Karnataka.

Ms. Kandala Singh


A qualitative researcher and writer, Kandala can usually be found in random corners of India, gently coaxing people to share their stories with her. She has worked with various organizations, including International Center for Research on Women, Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan, National Foundation for India, Dhriiti and Pradan. She has documented oral histories in a village in Kutch, worked in a participatory study on community based organizations across the country, conducted qualitative research interviews on child marriage in Haryana, girls’ education in Rajasthan and on young people’s aspirations in Allahabad. Mr S.N. Patnaik, Program Coordinator, PHRN, India has been in the field of health & nutrition/public health for the last 16 years. During this period he was actively involved in RCH-II, IPDP (Integrated population development program supported by UNDP & Government of Odisha), NHM, NHSRC, IFPRI, ICCHN, Save the children, and other civil society organizations in various capacities. Besides he has worked extensively in the field of disaster management and post-disaster livelihood restoration projects in partnership with Action aid, India and UNDP. In addition to that he had acted as a state level programme coordinator for a major project “Rural health & sanitation project” funded by UNICEF and department of Rural development, Government of Odisha. His interest and contribution in strengthening public health systems in the state has been widely appreciated both by the government and civil society organizations across the state of Odisha. During the period 2014-2016 he had acted as the state facilitator for a major National intervention of PHRN on addressing malnutrition.

Shahhnawaz Khan has been working with PHRS since February 2009. Currently working as programme coordinator based in Rayagada, Odisha. Previously had been associated with AAM project and handled technical support to ASHA training in 12 districts of Bihar. Major area of interests are health and nutrition. Had previously worked in Mott MacDonald Pvt Ltd for 2 years as a consultant . Mrs Satyamita Sahu have been working as Programme Coordinator PHRN, Odisha. Her interested area in public health research (Maternal and Child Health), Monitoring and Evaluation of program.
