Public Health Resource Network

Active since 2005, Public Health Resource Network (PHRN) is a growing network of individuals and organisations that believe in strengthening technical and management capacities to achieve “Health for All”. PHRN is constantly reinforcing efforts that promote public health, social justice and human rights in the provision and distribution of health services, especially for the underserved. PHRN is directly working in the states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar. It is also strengthening public health systems in other states through partnerships with like-minded organisations and institutions.

Public Health Resource Society

Public Health Resource Society (PHRS) is the core group that has initiated the network. PHRS is a national level organization that is registered in Delhi under Societies Registration Act 1860 (Act XXI). It comprises of a small group of members and full timers that provides leadership to the network as well as functions as its secretariat.

New Delhi, 1 August, 2025

Public Health Resource Society, New Delhi is proud to lead a consortium for the Asia Pacific Observatory (APO) on Health Systems and Policies as a strategic partner for the WHO’s APO thematic area of “tackling inequities in health due to gender, social inequities, being uncounted or unreached”.

The five-year Consortium will consist of the following partnering organisations from India and Australia: Public Health Resource Society, as the consortium lead (Dr. Vandana Prasad, Dr. Rupa Prasad and Dr. Indira Chakravarthi), The University of Sydney (A/Prof. Meru Sheel and Dr. Neha Faruqui), the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (Prof. Sanjay Dhir), University of New South Wales-Sydney (Prof Shanti Raman) and Foundation for People-centric Health Systems (Dr. Chandrakant Lahariya).

Our Vision

We believe that appropriate, and responsive public health services are imperative for the overall health and well-being of any population. With that in mind, we seek to deeply engage with public health practitioners on the frontline, especially within the community. We facilitate capacity-building for them that gradually translates into game-changing practices.
